Sri Walks The Ramp At Lakme Fashion Week
Ace Bollywood beauty of the '80s and early '90s Sridevi made a comeback in Lakme India Fashion Week and impressed the audience with her alluring beauty.
The eternally reigning Queen Bee proved that beauty never dies.
Wearing a golden hued dress with a corset bodice attached to a flared skirt, Sri swept the cheering crowd’s heart away when she walked the ramp for designers Priya and Chintan on the last day of the Lakme Fashion Week here on Wednesday.
She said, “It was a good experience and I was comfortable. The collection was very beautiful.”
“Sridevi-ji has been in the industry for so many years and has so much of confidence. She did a brilliant job on the ramp,” said Priya.
Inspired by 1920’s French artiste Erte, the designer duo had tastefully incorporated drapes, pleats and prints in skirts, saris, dresses and jackets.
The designer duo said that their collection is inspired by the Erte’s designs and drapes from the 1920s. The collection includes skirts, saris, dresses and jackets in deep puples, jade greens and gold with an artful use of drapes, pleats and prints.
“When we looked at Erte's drapes we realised that our traditional garments are no different. So we gave a new look to them... reinvented the sari and lehenga," Priya added.
Prriya and Chintan have been Sridevi fans for long and were pleased when she amiably agreed to be their showstopper.
"Sridevi, in our creation, looks ethereal," Chintan said.
"Our pret line is contemporary with a suggestion of Indian origin in terms of cuts, prints and embroideries. These are garments that make you look and feel good anywhere in the world. Sridevi, with her classic timeless looks, portrays exactly what our creations stand for," said Priya.
