Sri Lanka Wins ODI Series By 2-1!A blasting knock of 137 runs by opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan saw Sri Lanka mauling Pakistan team by 235 runs in the third and the final match of the series. With this win, Sri Lanka also lifted the ODI series by 2-1. This is considered as one of the worst performances by Pakistan against Sri Lanka on its home soil.

Dilshan unbeaten 137 came-off just in 139 balls which included 10 fours. His opening partner S Jayasuriya also did well notching up 50 ball 45. The two added 76 runs for the first wicket. Batting at number 3 position, left-handed batsman Kumar Sangakkara played well to score 50 runs. The left and right hand combination of Sangakkara and Dilshan added a crucial 104 runs for the second wicket. Thilina Kandamby also came up with useful contribution of 32 runs.

Pakistan team failed to get a solid start as they were not able to maintain any sort of momentum in their innings. Only two batsmen from Pakistani team could manage to reach the figure of double digit scores. Medium pace bowler Umar Gul scored the highest 27 for the team while skipper Shoaib Malik scored 17 runs for his side. Four batsmen from Pakistan had ducks against their names as the hosts folded for their lowest score at the venue. The star-studded Pakistani batting line-up was all out for 75 runs in 22.5 overs.

Lankan pacers Nuwan Kulasekara (3/17) and Thilan Tushara (3/33) picked up wickets at a quick succession before Muttiah Muralitharan (2/2) and Ajantha Mendis (1/12) completed the rout. Vetran spinner Muralitharan picked Sohail Khan (4) for his 500th ODI scalp.

Pakistan won the first match by eight wickets, while Sri Lanka took the second match by 129 runs -- both played in Karachi.
