SRF registers growth of 1973.53% in its Q4 net profit

SRF registers growth of 1973.53% in its Q4 net profit Gurgaon-headquartered SRF Limited has registered a growth of 1973.53% in its net profit, which rose to Rs 21.15 crore in the quarter ended March 2009 as against Rs 1.02 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2008.

Further, company's sales also grew 4.00% to Rs 407.52 crore in the quarter ended March 2009, as against Rs 391.83 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2008.

For the full year, the company posted a net profit of Rs 163.27 crore for year ended March 2009, against Rs 138.73 crore during the previous year ended March 2008.

In addition, company's sales also grew 11.49% to Rs 1800.82 crore in the year ended March 2009 as against Rs 1615.30 crore during the previous year ended March 2008.

During the said period, SRF had made two foreign acquisitions i. e. one in Thailand where it acquired Thai Baroda Industries Limited (TBIL), and the second one in South Africa where it acquired the belting fabrics business of Industex Technical Textiles (Pty) Limited.

SRF Limited engages in the manufacture and sale of technical textiles, packaging films, and chemicals in India and internationally.

The counter closed on Friday at Rs 89, down 1% compared to its previous close. The scrip has made 52-week-high and low of Rs 152 and Rs 62 respectively.
