The Sports Minister has decided to send officials to the Indian Olympic Association. This has been decided after the issue of its recent guidelines. Delegates led by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Suresh Kalmadi had a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and had a discussion over the current guidelines issued by the Union Sports Ministry.

They gave a copy of the letter issued to the ICO. The Prime Minister has assured the team that he will look in to the matter and take required steps. The Sports Ministry has decided to send a senior official to the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

However, the International Olympic Committee has also intervened in the current tussle that is going on in between the Indian Olympic Association and the Union Sports Ministry.

On the other hand, the IPA has also reported that it is going to reject the recent guidelines. It has also said that it will not help the government to encroach on its autonomy and that of the federations.
