Spanco, ITI jointly pick contract worth Rs 100 crore

Spanco Telesystems & Solutions has secured a contract worth Rs 100 crore to roll out state wide area network in Maharashtra. The project will be jointly executed by the company with ITI.

Under the agreement, both companies will jointly implement the project and maintain it for 5 Years on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model.

State Wide Area Network (SWAN) projects are planed under National e-governance action plan (NEGAP) of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India.

This network will provide state wide communication backbone connecting State Head Quarter (Mantralaya) to District Collector Offices and district Offices to Taluka (Tehsil) Offices.

The project is being jointly funded by Government of Maharashtra, Department of Information Technology under SETU along with Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, New Delhi.
