Sony launches new Xperi SP smartphone in India

Sony launches new Xperi SP smartphone in IndiaJapanese technology giant, Sony has announced the launch of its Xperi SP smartphone in the Indian market, as part of the company's plans to launch a host of new devices in the country.

The new Sony Xperi SP smartphone is powered by a strong Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T dual core processor, clocked at 1.7GHz with 1GB RAM. It will be the first smartphone to come with first-class Adreno 320 graphical processor and will have a 4.6-inch display of 720p resolution.

The smartphone comes with an impressive 8MP camera with Exmor RS sensor for good quality images and video. The smartphone comes with 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded through a microSD slot. The Xperi SP smartphone will be based on Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean offering access of thousands of apps through the Android app store and the company has said that the handset will be upgraded to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean soon.

The new Sony Xperia SP will be priced at Rs. 27,490. The company is also offering Xperia SP case worth Rs. 1990 free with every handset. At this price range, the company will compete with the likes of Galaxy S4, HTC One and iPhone 5, which are all priced above Rs 40000 mark.
