Sony Ericsson launches India’s first AM and FM mobile phone
To tap rapidly growing entry level mobile handset market, Sony Ericsson has revealed its first “Made in India, Made for India mobile” phone, the R300 Radio phone.
The company’s latest step is an attempt to address the needs of its customers in tier 2 markets and provide them with an option to listen to their favorite show or live cricket commentary on the move.
According to the company, R300 is targeted at those customers who either don't want a phone with an MP3 player or can't afford one.
The R300 has a 65k color, 128x160 pixel TFT display, VGA Camera along with 8MB internal memory. It comes with FM & AM frequencies, a first for radio phones in India.
Behind this, the latest gizmo also features dedicated radio speakers, preset channel buttons, 3D sound and volume boost, radio alarm clock, record/playback and TrackID.
R300 Radio is available in two colors – Antique Copper and Steel Black.
This handset has being launched across India and will be available at all leading mobile retail outlets and Sony Ericsson Experience Store across the country with a price tag of Rs 4395.
