Six wounded as Israeli planes strike northern Gaza

Six wounded as Israeli planes strike northern Gaza Gaza  - Six people were wounded after Israeli F16 planes hit two targets near the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, witnesses and doctors said.

Jabalia residents said Israeli aircraft fired two missiles east of the camp.

Earlier Friday, Israeli planes carried out three airstrikes on the border area between the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah and Egypt, targeting underground tunnels used for smuggling.

The attacks came after a pro-Hezbollah group claimed responsibility for launching two homemade rockets from the Gaza Strip at the southern Israeli towns of Sderout and Ashkol.

The group, called the Brigades of Hezbollah in Palestine, said that its militants fired two al-Radwan rockets from Gaza at southern Israel "to revenge the crimes of the occupation." (dpa)
