Shekhar Kapur and A R Rahman launch new social media platform called QyukiShekhar Kapur and A. R. Rahman, in collaboration with networking giant Cisco, on Wednesday announced the launch of a new social media forum called Qyuki.

Qyuki allows its users to upload their content. Then, other users can rate the content and comment on them. Qyuki staff will be available to provide professional support.

Other experts, such as film maker Imtiaz Ali, writer Chetan Bhagat, photographer Suresh Natarajan and music director Ranjit Banot, will also be their sort out best talents and take them forward, making it much easier for talent seekers like film producers or ad makers to spot the previously hidden talent.

Shekhar Kapur said the idea to create Qyuki hit his mind out of fear that if he did not catch the latest talents, then he would become extinct like a dinosaur.

Speaking on the topic, Kapur added, "There is so much imagination potential at the bottom of the class pyramid in India. If India is to grow, we have to provoke it (the imagination), bring it out."

Rahman said Qyuki could gradually facilitate India to capture the leadership in the future of various art forms.

Qyuki app, which is targeting the one hundred million Internet and around a billion mobile phone users in India, is currently available on only Android-based phones. Gadgets based on Windows and iOS will get it sometime later.
