Lahore, Feb. 24 : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has urged the governments of both Pakistan and India to probe the Mumbai terror attacks sincerely so as to restore the lost faith between citizens of both the countries.

"No crime, no matter how carefully planned, could remain hidden in the modern era. It is in the best interest of both the governments to investigate terror events wholeheartedly with all devotion and vigilance," The News quoted Sharif, as saying.

Sharif met an Indian peace delegation headed by journalist, Kuldeep Nayar and former Foreign Secretary, Salman Haider, at his Raiwind residence and said that Islamabad wanted to establish peace in the region by resolving issues through talks and dialogues.

He also condemned the blame-game by the leaderships of both the countries following the Mumbai massacre.

Sharif said that innocent people on both sides of the border had suffered the most due to the militant activities in the region.

He urged Islamabad and New Delhi both to give importance to public welfare programs rather than wasting resources in building-up defence against each other by engaging in arms trade. (ANI)
