Sharif’s return to Pakistan due to my initiatives, says Benazir
Karachi, Nov 26: Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has said that Nawaz Sharif had returned to Pakistan because of the National Reconciliation Ordinance, 2007, which was a result of her initiatives.
Bhutto welcomed Sharif’s return to Pakistan, and said Sharif’s homecoming was made possible because of her dialogue with the regime.
PPP spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that Bhutto would also file nomination papers from two National Assembly constituencies in Larkana, NA-204 and NA-207, on Monday.
Earlier, Bhutto on Sunday filed nomination papers for the forthcoming general elections in the country from the central Karachi seat, which is reserved for woman candidates.
Bhutto reached the Regional Election Commission Office in the city where hundreds of her party workers were present.
Her supporters chanted slogans and hailed her as the next Prime Minister.
The elections for the provincial and the federal assemblies are scheduled for January 8, the Daily Times reported. (ANI)
