Sharath Loses From His Austrian Opponent

It was a hard-wrenching moment for all the Indians when Achanta Sharath Kamal lost Sharath Loses From His Austrian Opponent from Austria's Chen Weixing with 1-4 in the second round clash of the men’s singles at the table tennis event in Beijing Olympics on Wednesday.

The Chennai based Sharath didn’t seem to be in his complete and full form as he struggled hard to win against his Austrian opponent but was outplayed by 5-11, 12-14, 2-11, 11-8, 10-12.

Chen displayed a fine performance as he played with full confidence and Sharath struggled hard to survive his tough shots.

Sharath however could only win one match which lasted for 32 minutes. Already, Neha Aggrawal has been eliminated for she lost in her first round of match itself.

Dejected Sharath reported, “I should have won the second game. But, after I lost the third, I was a little disturbed. I needed to calm down and pull myself together. I really don’t know what happened.”

He further added, “My forehand wasn’t working today. That is normally my strong point. I was messing up my topspin.”
