Sensex Turns Volatile In Morning Trade
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Monday was trading in a volatile manner during morning trade.
The Sensex, which belled the day at 16,872.17, stood at 16,875.98, up 12.92 points from its previous close at 16,863.06.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broad-based Nifty stood at 5,061.45, down 0.1% from its earlier closure.
Broader markets indices were also trading positively, with the BSE midcap index trading 0.14% higher and the BSE smallcap index 0.28% up.
On Friday, the Sensex gained 196.66 points to end the week at 16,863.06 on strong support from the bull side in view of bullish advice from worldwide markets.
In contrast, the Nifty closed at 5066.55 after gaining 63.45 points.
The top gainers list comprised RCom, Sterlite Inds, Jindal Steel, DLF, M&M, ITC, JP Asso, Tata Power, NTPC, Hindalco, Infosys, RIL and ACC.
The losers list included Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Bank and L & T. (With Inputs from Agencies)
