Sensex Makes Some Recovery; Rcom Declines Over 7%
The 30-share index Sensex made some recovery in today's session on the back of some buying activity witnessed across index heavyweights.
The scrips in limelight were metal, IT and capital goods, whereas real estate and banking stocks remained weak.
Shares of Reliance Communications dipped 7.57% after the CAG report on the so-called abnormalities in the allotment of 2G spectrum stated that Swan teleom seemed to be a front company for Reliance Telecom.
At 12.06 p. m., the BSE Sensex gained 87.02 points to trade at 19,952.16, whereas the broad-based Nifty remained up by 24.10 points at 6,012.80.
Today, the Sensex belled the day after surging 132.69 points at 19,997.83.
In contrast, the Nifty began the day at 6143.45 after making a gain of 154.75 points.
The top gainers in the Sensex pack remained Hero Honda Motors, Sterlite Industries (India), Hindalco Industries, Cipla, Tata Steel and JP Associates.
The major losers' list comprised RCom, ICICI Bank, ONGC, Jindal Steel & Power, SBI and Mah & Mah.
The BSE Midcap index and smallcap index fell 0.65% and 1.32% respectively.
Among sectoral indices, the Metal index surged 196.25 at 16,773.56; the IT index surged 53.70 points; the Capital Goods index climbed 134.70 points; the Realty index shed 55.52 points.
