Sensex Hits 20K Mark In Morning Trade
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was trading quite higher, having breached the 20K mark in the morning trade.
The Sensex, which belled the day at 20,007.89, stood at 20,034.15 after surging 41.45 points (0.21%) as against its last closure at 19,992.7.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broad-based Nifty remained at 6,023.75, up 0.2%.
Broader markets remained in the negative terrain, with the BSE midcap index shedding 0.44% and the BSE smallcap index ruling 0.79% down.
On Thursday (Dec 02), the BSE Sensex shut its shop at 19,992 after registering a gain of 142 points. It hit an intra-day peak of 20,084.
In contrast, the NSE Nifty surged 50 points to end the day at 6,011.
The bulls continued their attempt to steadily make their way back into the market following the recent U-turns, with the two key stock indices stabbing key psychological barriers.
Real Estate, Metals, IT, Banking and Oil & Gas stocks remained in limelight whereas Auto, Capital Goods and Power scrips remained subdued.
