Sensex Gains Over 128 Pts In Early Trade
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) remained up by 128 points in the morning session as broader markets witnessed buying action today.
The Sensex, which belled the day at 19,529.99, was trading at 19,650.11 after making a gain of 128.86 points (0.66%) as against its last closure at 19,521.25.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broad-based Nifty surged 0.72% to trade at 5,904.7.
Broader markets remained in the positive terrain, with the BSE midcap index trading 1.62% up and the BSE smallcap index gained 2.04%.
Indian bourses, on Tuesday, closed the day on a positive note as viewpoint turned optimistic India's Gross Domestic Product for the second quarter raised at 8.9% as compared to 8.8% in the earlier period.
The overall growth was backed up by 4.4% increase in Agriculture output as compared to 2.8%.
The positive GDP figures offered much needed support and actuated the up-move.
Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex on the last day of the month of November closed at 19521.25, up 116.15 points after hitting an intra-day peak of 19218.02 and an intra-day low of 19610.46.
National Stock Exchange's Nifty shut the shop at 5862.70 after gaining 32.70 points.
