Sensex Gains 91.91 Pts At 9118.63
The Mumbai Railway Police denied that there was any firing at the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus Station this afternoon.
According to the Commissioner, Railway Security, it was not firing but only a disruption and the condition is totally normal out there right now.
The 30-share index BSE Sensex, which had slipped into the red in early afternoon trade, has rallied to 9,118.63, up 91.91 points, on account of buying action seen across IT and auto sectors.
In the meantime, the broad based Nifty gained 7.35 points at 2,759.60 after touching a high of 2,779.00 and a low of 2,690.30.
The Sensex opened with a loss of 137.54 points at 8,889.18.
The stock market witnessed 836 advancements as against 1,133 declination.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Consultancy Services (6.24%), Infosys Technologies (4.70%), Mahindra & Mahindra (4.41%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (4.38%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (2.64%), and Satyam Computer Services (2.39%).
On the other hand, Reliance Energy (3.69%), Larsen & Toubro (3.02%), Jaiprakash Associates (2.91%), Tata Steel (2.52%), Grasim Industries (2.45%), and Ranbaxy Laboratories (1.97%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
