Sensex Gains 66 Pts On Fresh Buying
After opening the day in the green, the equity benchmark indices were trading in the positive zone on fresh buying action, about half an hour into trade.
At 9.30 a. m., Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex, which opened at 17,176.02, was up 65.78 points whereas the broad-based National Stock Exchange's Nifty advanced 0.4% to trade at 5,155.5.
BSE Midcap Index surged 0.52 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.7 per cent higher.
Yesterday, Sensex ended the day after gaining 113.23 points at 17,087.63 points, while Nifty shut shop at 5,148.2, up 31.95 points.
Overall market breadth was pessimistic as it saw 1,083 advancements as against 1,756 declinations.
