Sensex Gains 56.15 Pts; Nifty At 6,335.25
Indian equities continued their positive run during early trade for the fourth successive day today.
Both Sensex and Nifty were trading at their new record peaks.
At 9:19 a. m., the 30-share index gained 56.15 points to trade at 21,061.11 while the broad-based Nifty surged 22.80 points to trade at 6,335.25.
Today, the Sensex belled the week after gaining 37.01 points (0.18%) at 21,041.97 as against its last closure.
On the other hand, the Nifty began the day with an increase of 9.40 points (0.15%) at 6,321.85.
The top gainers in the Sensex comprised Hindalco Industries, which surged 1.53%, Bharti Airtel rose 1.06%, Tata Motors jumped 0.92%, HUL climbed 0.68%, Reliance Energy zoomed 0.67% and JP Associates grew by 0.64%.
In contrast, the top losers' in the list included DLF, which dropped by 0.84%, TCS declined 0.79%, L&T fell 0.67%, Infosys Technologies lost 0.57%, Hero Honda Motors slipped 0.54% and ACC remained down by 0.50%.
The BSE Midcap index surged 0.08%, while the BSE Smallcap index gained 0.22%.
Among sectoral indices, the IT index was lost 31.93 points to trade at 6,168.39; the Capital Goods index fell 71.58 points at 16,630.11; the real estate index declined 11.96 points at 3,730.88.
In contrast, the HC index remained up by 35.65 points at 6,740.24.
