Sensex Dull, Broader Markets GainThe 30-share index Sensex continued to trade in a dull manner today.

The scrips from banking, real estate and oil & gas sectors remained up, whilst scrips from IT and capital goods descended.

At 11.21 a. m., the Sensex was trading higher by 38.57 points at 18,119.78.

In the meantime, the broad-based Nifty gained 9.15 points to trade at 5,440.80.

Today, the BSE Sensex belled the day after gaining 68.69 points at 18,149.90, whereas Nifty begun the day after declining 62.10 points at 5,369.55.

The major movers in the Sensex pack included Hero Honda, ICICI Bank, JP Associates, DLF, RIL and Bharti Airtel.

On the other hand, the top losers list comprised RCom, ITC, Rel Energy (1.13%), TCS, ACC and Infosys Technologies.

The BSE Midcap index gained 0.51% and the BSE Midcap index increased by 0.76%.

Among sectoral indices, the Bankex index surged 129.46 points, the Oil & Gas index surged 96.01 points, the realty index increased by 3,440.05, and the IT index remained down by 43.41 points.

The overall breadth of the stock market remained positive as it witnessed 1,621 advancements as compared to 1,065 declinations.
