The 30-share index Sensex gained further after hitting the 20,000-point mark during the last trading session.

Today (Sep 22), the Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) belled the day at 20,039.43.

Shortly after the opening bell, the Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) gained 64.57 points (0.32%) at 20,066.12 from its previous close at 20,001.55.

In contrast, the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty stood at 6,024 after surging 0.21 percent.

Broader markets indices were also trading positively.

The BSE midcap gained 0.31% and the BSE smallcap was up by 0.38%.

On Tuesday (Sep 21), the BSE's Sensex closed the day at 20001 after surging 94.90 points (0.48%). During the day, the 30-share index hit a peak of 20088.96 and a low of 19860.88.

The Nifty gained 27.80 points to end at 6008.25 after touching an intraday peak of 6032.80 and low of 5961.85.

BSE Midcap Index was down 1.02 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index declined 1.35 per cent.
