Sensex Up By 125 Pts; Nifty At 5,840,05
Rested upon its two-day rally, the 30 share index Sensex gained over 125 points to trade at 19,472,12 in the morning trade.
Today, the Sensex belled the day at 19,343.74 as against its last closure at 19,346.96 on Tuesday.
On the other hand, the broad-based Nifty stood at 5,840,05 after registering a gain of 0.77 per cent.
Broader markets indices were also trading positively with the BSE midcap 0.5% higher and the BSE smallcap index 0.44% up.
On Tuesday (Sep 14), the BSE Sensex ended the day with a gain of 138.63 points at 19,346.96 and Nifty ended at 5795.55 after surging 35.55 points.
Speculative demand from local operators plus continued capital inflows by foreign funds aided Sensex and Nifty to register gains for the sixth trading session on Tuesday.
Buying activity was witnessed across automobile, metal, tech, telecommunication and private financial firms together with RIL.
During the day's second part, the 30-share index Sensex hovered in the range of 19,200-19,485.
The Sensex, on Tuesday, hit an intraday peak of 19,487.02 and an intraday low of 19,218.13.
