Sen wanted to hide in Ladakh: policeSudipto Sen, jailed chairman & managing director of chit fund group Saradha, and his accomplices had plans to hide in Ladakh till the uproar stopped, Bidhannagar police detective department's deputy commissioner Arnab Ghosh revealed.

Sen and some her accomplices were arrested by the West Bengal police around three days back from Kashmir.

The ongoing investigation revealed that they had plans to flee to Ladakh as they believed that the police would not try to find them in the remote area.

Revealing some of the findings of the inquiry, Ghosh said, "They must have thought that the Bengal police would never look for them in such a remote area. Once all the noises stopped, they would then come out of hiding and open some business in western India."

The inquiry also revealed that Sen has 150 acres of land and at least 35 vehicles, and more than 210 bank accounts in as many as 100 branches of various banks spread across the country.

Sen's main accomplices in the chit fund business included six women - hsi two wives and four women directors of his various companies. His wives, Piyali and Madhumita, have gone underground. One of the directors, Debjani Mukherjee, is believed to be the queen bee. It was 27-year-old Debjani with whom Sen had fled to Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a team of Assam police officers has arrived in Kolkata to seek help in arresting Sudipta Sen, who has also allegedly cheated a number of investors in the north-eastern state of the country.
