Sen tells police Trinamool MPs met him before his escapeAdmitting his close ties with Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders, Saradha group CMD Sudipta Sen told police that he had convened a meeting with two TMC leaders, viz. Mukul Roy and Kunal Ghosh, just before fleeing to North India to avoid arrest.

In the ongoing investigations into the collapsed chit fund-based Saradha group, Sen told police that the two TMC leaders had met him on April 6 and they discussed the poor financial condition of the group.

Debjani Mukherjee, the virtual No. 2 at the collapsed company, had also accompanied Sen to spot of the meeting but she didn't attend the meeting.

Sen claimed that the two leaders didn't advise him on how to revive the business, even though they had well aware of the poor financial condition of the company for a long time.

Sen also claimed that TMC leaders had blackmailed him at various times. For example, they forced him to purchase a loss-making motorcycle company unit near Singur by a business lobby that is very close to the ruling Trinamool government.

He also said that the Trinamool leaders had promised him that he would be given a free run in his businesses in the state without any government intervention and interruption.

TMC leaders have so far denied any relations with Sen or his collapsed company.
