SEBI All Set to Start Training Institute for Investors
Coimbatore: Market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is all set to establish a dedicated training and research organization in order to educate and train investors and other stakeholders on capital market.
While interacting with the members of various associations, M Damodaran, SEBI Chairman said the Institute, to be set up near Mumbai, would have six special schools with different subjects that would train the capitalists and tech them various aspects of the capital market.
"This institute will be the first of its kind in the world, run by a regulator," he stated.
He also said that the institute would have different academic programmes, including a Ph.D on Capital Market and on regulators.
On the authorship, he told 60 per cent of the staff would be hired from India and SEBI has tied up with some specialized persons from the US and the United Kingdom, by which the capitalists would be influenced to work in a strong market. Construction processes for the organization would start shortly.
SEBI was also projecting to hold discussion groups to update journalists, particularly desk-persons of financial newspapers on the happening in the capital markets, he said.
