Seagate Rolls Out 1 TB Hard Disks In Indian Market

sea_gateSeagate has launched its latest 1 Terabyte (TB) capacity hard drives ‘Barracuda ES.2’ and ‘Barracuda 7200.11’ in India.

The hard disk industry giant stated that the new hard drives offer up a blend of capability, performance and dependability for a broad variety of enterprise plus desktop PC applications.

The newly launched hard drives feature 7,200-rpm spin speeds, average seek times of 8.5ms, caches up to 32MB and many others.

The company said that these hard drives bundle 1TB of records on 4 discs to offer operating temperatures and low power consumption that helps in extending drive’s life time.

Barracuda ES.2 comes with Rotational Vibration Feed Forward (RVFF) system. It also improves dependability with an irrecoverable error rate that is 10 times superior as compared to desktop class drives. It also consists of SAS interface alternative as well as SATA. In addition to all these features, ES.2 also has PowerTrim technology that drives power consumption at all levels of activity.

On the other hand, the Barracuda 7200.11 is a dynamic, nearly noise-free desktop hard drive with a 105MB/s continued transfer rate. It has a low power rating of 8 watts at idle.

The 1TB Barracuda 7200.11 is available at an MSRP of INR 16,000.
