SC to hear the petition of Dinakaran tomorrow
On Monday the Supreme Court (SC) has issued notice to the Judges Enquiry Committee. This notice was given after the Sikkim High Court Chief Justice P. D. Dinakaran who filed a petition saying that charges framed against him were beyond the scope of the notice of motion. The notice was seeking his charge for alleged misconduct.
The notice was issued by the bench of Justice G. S. Singhvi and Justice C. K. Prasad. They gave this notice after the senior counsel A. Saran told the court that the charge sheet which were issued to Justice Dinakaran lacked the charges which were not in the notice of motion.
At present Justice Dinakaran has been charged for misconduct and there has been an order in Rajya Sabha for seeking his impeachment and removal.
The enquiry committee of the Judges was apex court Judge Aftab Alam, Karnataka High Court Chief Justice J. S. Kehar and senior counsel P. P. Rao.
The petition filed by Sikkim High Court Chief Justice PD Dinakaran will be heard by the Supreme Court will tomorrow. The petition was related to the unfairness on the part of a Rajya Sabha. Rajya Sabha has appointed panel for having investigation on the charges of judicial misconduct and corruption against him.
