Sangakkara likely to lead Kings XI Punjab in IPL-3
Anil Srivastva, CEO, Kings XI Punjab on Friday informed media that the management will formally announce the name of the new skipper of the franchisee in next seven days and Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara is likely to replace former skipper Yuvraj Singh in IPL-3.
Mr. Anil added that he did not want to comment on this issue but he was shocked to hear that Yuvraj was removed from the captaincy last month and team management will take final decision on new skipper before IPL auctions starting from 19th January.
Mr. Anil also discarded any speculations regarding participation of co-owner Preity Zinta in the next edition of IPL due to news of her spilt with Ness Wadia. Anil termed all these speculation as baseless and ensured that Zinta will play a pivot role in this edition of the IPL also.
Meanwhile, Anil also confirmed that HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala will host two home matches for the Kings XI Punjab while rest five matches will be held at PCA stadium in Mohali. Due to unavailability of flood lights and other infrastructure facilities, Sector 16 Cricket Stadium will not get chance to host any match in IPL-3.
