Samsung launches ‘OMNIA’Samsung Telecommunications India, the number two mobile handsets maker in the country, has launched a high-end phone christened OMNIA SGH-i900 in the Indian market, to compete with Apple's iPhone and Nokia N96.

The stylish and sleek Omnia comes in a stunning brushed aluminum casing and weighs mere 127 grams. The phone has been aimed at users who desire a lot of functionality, style, usability and entertainment in one innovative device. Based on the most advanced Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, Samsung OMNIA offers users a mobile extension to their PC experience, with access to MS Office documents such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel along with Microsoft Outlook express.

Samsung OMNIA delivers digital entertainment through its wide 3.2-inch WQVGA LCD screen with a 240x400 resolution of 16 million TFT colors, for viewing videos and slide shows in high-resolution.

The latest gizmo also comes with a 5 MP camera with the most recent features, which include auto-focus (AF), face and smile recognition and auto-panorama shot, along with internal memory available in 8GB or 16 GB options. However, user can further extend the storage space through its memory card slot.

Apart from this, Samsung OMNIA also offers GPS, including navigation and geo-tagging capabilities. Samsung claims that latest gizmo offers better features compared to its rival models. The company has priced its 24 GB model at Rs 37,999, while 32 GB will be available at price tag of Rs 39,999.
