Salma Hayek faked teacher’s death to escape French language classes
Washington, Jan 15: Now that Salma Hayek's young daughter has started speaking French fluently, the Mexican-American actress is regretting faking the death of her own tutor to get out of learning the language.
The 42-year-old actress gave birth to daughter Valentina with her ex-fiance, French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, in September 2007.
And now that her baby girl is becoming more fluent in French, English and Spanish, the actress is kicking herself for concocting a murderous scheme to escape language classes.
"This is a tragic thing. I don''t speak French really well - but you know, I could have. When I was about 17 or 16, my parents sent me to Paris to study at (University of Paris) La Sorbonne for the whole summer - an intensive course, six hours a day with a private tutor and staying with French nuns," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
"A friend from Greece called me and said, ''What are you, crazy? You''re going to spend your whole summer locked up in a classroom?''
"So we came up with a plan and I called up my parents and told them the tutor died, and it was too late in the game and they couldn''t find any more tutors.
"So I went to Greece instead, and now I''m really sorry I killed that tutor because it would''ve been really handy to speak French," she added. (ANI)
