Sadhguru Recovering Fast after Brain Surgery

Sadhguru recently faced a life-threatening medical crisis but is currently on a path to recovery.

For the past four weeks, Sadhguru had been experiencing severe headaches. Despite the intense pain, he maintained his usual schedule, even leading the nightlong MahaShivRatri celebrations on 8th March 2024.

By the afternoon of 15th March 2024, Sadhguru's headache had become excruciating upon his arrival in Delhi. Following the advice of Dr. Vinit Suri, Senior Consultant Neurologist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Sadhguru underwent an urgent MRI at 4:30 pm the same day. The results revealed a significant brain hemorrhage, indicating a chronic bleed that had been ongoing for 3-4 weeks, along with fresh bleeding within the previous 24-48 hours.

Despite being advised immediate hospitalization, Sadhguru informed the doctors that he had not missed a single meeting in the last 40 years. Despite severe symptoms, he completed his scheduled meetings on 15th March and attended the India Today Conclave on 16th March, albeit under the influence of high doses of painkillers.

On 17th March 2024, Sadhguru's neurological condition rapidly deteriorated, accompanied by weakness in his left leg, worsening headaches, and recurrent vomiting. He was subsequently admitted to the hospital, where a CT scan revealed a significant increase in brain swelling and a life-threatening shift of the brain.

Under the care of a team of doctors, including Dr. Vinit Suri, Dr. Pranav Kumar, Dr. Sudheer Tyagi, and Dr. S. Chatterjee, Sadhguru underwent emergency brain surgery shortly after admission to alleviate the bleeding in his skull. He was successfully taken off the ventilator post-surgery.

Sadhguru has shown consistent improvement, with his brain, body, and vital signs returning to normal levels. His recovery has exceeded expectations, with Dr. Suri noting that "Sadhguru is healing himself, in addition to the medical interventions provided by us."
