Rude redefines the lounging experience
It is rustic, youngish and coarse- The newest addition to enhance city's nightlife- The Rude Cafe and Lounge at CBD Belapur. The lounge started functioning just a month back, but has been successful in making its own place in the market. It is the first format which has both cafe and lounge bringing the best of both together. Rude has already got city youngsters talking and is living up to the expectation of customers. Rude is situated next to Moti Mahal in CBD-Belapur, the restaurant centre of the city.
"Initially, the idea was to arrange very rude settings, wherein even the waiters will speak rudely to customers. But we were not sure whether everyone has that kind of humour sense, so we left out that part and gave a crude and unfinished look to the property," said Sachin Jawalre, a hospitality consultant and the man behind Rude's look.
Rude has three sitting areas outside where one can fold up their legs and sit comfortably with friends. The place is apt for those who are not in the mood of listening to music. On entering the lounge, the dining area is right in front where a section is dedicated to the sitting area with pillows, while the other section is made of wooden furniture and is a no smoking area. And the upper sitting area is very youngish with white coloured furniture and dim lights. Also the ceiling and walls are done up with wacky phrases and words written all over them. The items on the menu are reasonably priced and are worth every penny.
In times of recession, Navi Mumbai has not shown many signs of being affected with stores, hotel and lounges opening every now and then. But owner of the lounge Arpana Ahluwalia has other reason to say.
"When we were midway with Rude, recession has already hit. We decided not to stall the work and were ready if we receive cold response from the crowd. Luckily, we got great response from the locals, especially in the New Year bash where we had more than 200 customers." She further said that in short time Rude has successfully attracted customers from not only Navi Mumbai, but also from distant areas such as Bandra.
The lounge has introduced Caiprojka vodka and drought beer recently, becoming the first one to do so. A drought beer pitcher costs Rs 325 excluding taxes. Further, Rude has also introduced unlimited lunch for just Rs 555 excluding taxes on every Sunday.
