Roshni Chopra Becomes First 'Desi Girl'After chasing hens, bathing buffalos and picking cow dung, TV actress Roshni Chopra has won the title of India's "Desi Girl" at the finale of the Imagine TV reality show on Sunday.

The 30-year-old, who had been living in Sialba Majri village near Chandigarh city since the last 7-weeks and confronted daily challenges of village life, edged past other finalists Ishitta Arun and Kashmera Shah.

In a press statement issued before the finale, Roshni said, "My experience in Sialba Majri has been one of the most fulfilling and challenging journeys. And I can proudly say is that the seven weeks I've spent here have helped me discover my inner desi girl."

The final verdict was announced after considering votes by villagers of Sialba Majri plus audience across the country.

Hosted by popular actor Rohit Roy, "Desi Girl" was started with eight glamour girls including Sambhavna Seth, Kashmera Shah, Roshni Chopra, Monica Bedi, Anmol Singh, Rucha Gujarati, Ishitta Arun and Aushima Sawhney.

The show's concept involved these urban girls surviving the hard village life, and performing the daily tasks of villagers.

The finale witnessed vigorous and lively dance performances by all the partakers, and stand-up comedian Sunil Grover added bouts of humour with his jokes.

The respective families of the contestants and panchayat members from the village also came to show their support. (With Inputs from Agencies)
