Billionaire Gina Rinehart has been able to secure crucial funding for her $US 10 billion Roy Hill iron ore project.
Ms Rinehart has been working for about four years to secure funding for the project after the key rail link was approved by the authorities in the country. She prooved her critics wrong and has comitted to running her own mine in the country.
She secured a massive $8 billion debt funding package in Singapore after several months of holding discussions with the investment bankers. The deal is key to the success of the project but some experts have said that it has come later than expected.
The construction of the Pilbara mine, rail and port project is in progress and is already 30 per cent complete. The customers in Asian markets will have to wait for 18 months for the shipments.
