RIL to offer high speed 4G broadband at affordable pricesMukesh Ambani led Reliance Industries Limited is planning to release its new 4G broadband network, which will offer exclusive content and high speed connectivity at affordable prices, in the country later this year.

Under a new exclusive agreement, Reliance will also be able to access Network18 content to offer on its new network. RIL broadband offering will include the content for various mediums for the customers in the country. It is developing a 'platform-neutral technology' to stream high-speed, cheap and exclusive content on mobile, computer/tablet, TV and billboards in the country.

This will be a forth initiative for Mukesh aimed at moving from servicing industrial customers to also catering to individual consumers. The other three attempts in oil retailing, telecom and retail have not been able to attract number of customers.

Believers say that company will be able to make an impact in the broadband market as it is the only company with pan-India wireless broadband spectrum, which it acquired for whooping 17,600 crore. The company has also committed to invest $5 billion in the first two years.

In an interesting development showing eradication of differences between the Ambani brothers, that Reliance Industries (RIL) may use the telecom towers of Reliance Communications (RCom) on rent for its 4G foray.
