Revamped VW ID.6 Crozz makes debut in China with generous $6,200 price reduction

Volkswagen, in collaboration with its esteemed partner FAW-VW, has just officially announced the grand debut of its revamped iteration of the all-electric ID.6 Crozz crossover in China with a generous price reduction of more than $6,000. The captivating revamped Volkswagen ID.6 Crozz electric SUV boasts a tempting starting price of approximately $35,500 (or 258,900 yuan). The new EV is being offered at an attractive discount of up to $6,200 (approx. 45,000 yuan). However, the discount is available only for a limited time period. In other words, there is a brief window for securing this cutting-edge three-row battery-powered SUV for just $29,300.

In the United States, the revamped electric SUV finds its closest counterpart in the 7-seat version of the Tesla Model Y Long Range, which comes with a price tag of $52,990 before incentives. Thus, there is a notable price difference between the two rival electric SUVs. However, the Volkswagen EV truly distinguishes itself in terms of dimensions as it measures 192 inches in length, 72 inches in width, and 66 inches in height. In other words, the revamped Volkswagen EV eclipses the Tesla Model Y by around 4 inches in width, 5 inches in length and 2 inches in height.

Currently, the Volkswagen ID.6 Crozz electric SUV is available only in the Chinese market. However, a company spokesperson previously hinted that it could enter the U.S. market as well.

The ID.6 Crozz also stands out due to its exceptional adaptability as it offers a choice between two seating arrangements: a 6-seat layout or a 7-seat arrangement. Front seat passengers get luxurious treatment with features like twelve-way adjustment and massage functionality.

Standard features include a 5.3-inch LCD screen instrument panel, a generous 12-inch central touchscreen display and an augmented reality head-up display for the driver’s added convenience. The steering wheel of the revamped EV boasts vegan leather, marking a shift away from natural leather. The German manufacturer and its Chinese partner have also enhanced the MOSC 4.0 intelligent car system to enable seamless voice interaction and online navigation.

The new Volkswagen ID.6 Crozz lineup comprises a total of four enticing trim levels, viz. Pure, Pure+, Pro, and Prime. The Prime trim boasts dual-motor AWD setup, while the Pure trim impresses with a front-mounted 177hp e-motor paired with a 62.6-kWh battery pack that promises a range of 298 miles. Pure+, Pro, and Prime models feature a more potent e-motor capable of generating 201 hp, and more efficient battery promising an extended range of 373 miles.
