Reliance Jio’s Innovation Head Arvind Rao resignsReliance Jio Infocomm's head of innovation Arvind Rao has reportedly left the company. Mr. Rao had joined Mukesh Ambani-led RIL in November 2012.

Mr. Rao, who was responsible for Reliance Jio's content strategy, has left the company at a time when it is preparing to launch high-speed voice and data service on mobile.

The reason behind Mr. Rao's abrupt departure could not be ascertained. A spokesperson for the company declined to comment on the report. However, a former colleague of Mr. Rao confirmed his departure.

According to some people familiar with the matter, Mr. Rao left the company due to differences with the management on the positioning and launch of new services.

Mr. Rao is co-founder of OnMobile, which is seen as a pioneer firm in the field of Value Added Services (VAS) in India. He was the managing director and chief executive officer of the firm when he quit it in July 2012.

At the time of Mr. Rao's resignation from the top job at OnMobile, the company had said that corporate governance issues were detected during his tenure.
