Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. has informed that it has won IT consultancy projects for the all five Electricity Distribution Companies in Karnataka.

The company has emerged as the only power utility company that bagged the IT consultancy projects for all five Electricity Distribution Companies in Karnataka.

The five distribution companies are: Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESCOM), Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM), Hubli Electricity Supply Company (HESCOM) and Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company (GESCOM).

It should be noted that the state electricity boards in Karnataka have decided to undertake IT initiatives as a part of Government of India's Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reform Programme (R-APDRP).

Under the arrangement, the company would study the existing systems and develop IT Blueprint for the SEBs; prepare and submit detailed project report; assist Karnataka's SEB in appointing IT implementation agency and evolve programme for overall management of IT implementation.

At 3:14 pm, the scrip of the company is trading at Rs 1192 on BSE, down 6% compared to previous close of Rs 1268.
