Peter MandelsonLondon  - Peter Mandelson, Britain's new Business Secretary, recalled early from his post as European Union (EU) Trade Commissioner, Monday took his seat in the House of Lords as Baron Mandelson of Foy in the county of Herefordshire, and of Hartlepool.

The elevation to the status of Labour peer in the Upper House of the British parliament had become necessary because Mandelson, 55, no longer has a seat in the House of Commons.

Now, a laptop with details of 150,000 UK railway workers is stolenLondon, Oct. 13 : A leading rail union called today for an urgent inquiry after a laptop containing personal details of 150,000 workers in the industry was stolen.

According to The Independent, the computer was in a bag taken from an employee of Deloitte which until recently was the external auditor for the RPMI, which administers railway pension schemes.

Nine out of 10 overweight Britons are called by derogatory names

London, Oct 13 : Nine out of 10 fat Britons are being called by derogatory names such as ‘porker’ or ‘thunder thighs’, says a new survey.

The top four hate names were ‘fatty’, ‘fat’, ‘lard arse’ and ‘fat b*****d’, while other common jibes included ‘porker’, ‘thunder thighs’, ‘Mr Blobby’ and ‘Ten Ton Tess’.

The survey involving 1,000 adults also found that such fat jibes were common among youngsters.

It said that weight-related name calling were "endemic" among Britons, with nine out of 10 overweight people experiencing it because of their excess pounds.

World''s tiniest walking robot unveiled in JapanLondon, Oct 13 (ANI): Toy manufacturer Tomy Co. has unveiled the world’s smallest walking robot in Japan.

The human-shaped Robo-Q, which is not bigger than a thumb, can kick a football, find its way out of a maze and dodge unexpected obstacles, reports the Telegraph.

The two-legged micro robot, which stands only 3.4 cm high, is fitted with artificial intelligence enabling it to navigate and play games.

Built-in infrared sensors also enable the Robo-Q to walk around objects placed in its path.
