Sir Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese to team up for another film

Mick JaggerLondon, November 5 : Sir Mick Jagger and veteran director Martin Scorsese are set to team up for a movie after having already worked together for a 2008 documentary film.

The ‘Rolling Stone’s lead vocalist, whose ‘Shine A Light’, was directed by the 65-year-old film historian, is set to produce the movie, reports the Sun.

The English rocker, who was acclaimed for his performance as Australian bushranger ‘Ned Kelly’, also runs his movie company, ‘Jagged Films’, with producer Victoria Pearman.

Fish Twice A Week May Prevent Kidney Damage In DiabeticsA new study conducted by British scientists discovered that intake of fish twice a week might help in preventing kidney problems in diabetics.

The study, published in the November edition of the American Journal of Kidney Diseases, the official journal of the National Kidney Foundation, showed that intake of fish lowers abnormal levels of protein in the urine of diabetes patients.

The researchers analyzed the records of over 22,000 middle-aged and older English men and women, 517 of whom were diabetics, especially type 2 diabetes.

London, Nov 5 : Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has declared her love for her F1 lover Lewis Hamilton in a special video on the Internet.

The lead singer congratulated the 23-year-old world champion race car driver during a special video message posted on her girl group''s official website.

“I’m so excited I feel like I’m on top of the world right now,” the Sun quoted her, as saying in the video.

“Why? Because I want to congratulate my boyfriend Lewis Hamilton for being the official Formula One world champion!

“Congratulations baby - I love you, I love you, I love you,” she added.

The singer also took the opportunity to get racing fans into the Pussycat Dolls.

Sarah Palin’s pal turns her into calendar girl

London, November 5 : Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has been turned into a calendar girl by one of her friends, who has served as her as Deputy Mayor in Wasilla.

Judy Patrick’s calendar shows Palin as posing with a gun, and included dozens of her pictures clicked while she was on the job and at home with her family.

In one of the images, Palin is wrapped in the American flag, with a sidebar of pictures of her and her children.

“This flag photo was taken just days after the terrorist attacks on 9/11 in 2001,” British tabloid The Sun quoted the caption as saying. . "Sarah, like the rest of the nation, was trying to cope with the attacks on American soil and demonstrating her patriotism,” the caption added.

They say that public fascination with celebrity figures can be traced back to the rise of newspapers and magazines in the 18th Century and their popular obituaries section.

Obituaries gave an account of the lives of high profile personalities, who became the objects of scandal and public fascination, or the first "celebrities".

It is widely believed that the ''modern celebrity'' was born with the Romantic movement of the early 19th century, but now researchers have challenged that notion, insisting the cult of the celebrity began a century earlier.

Video games don't boost brainpower, claims study

London, Nov 5 : A new study challenges claims made by previous researches that video games help boost memory power and multitasking ability.

The research team led by researchers from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign showed that playing video games doesn’t improve cognitive skills.

They found no improvement in memory skills or the ability to multitask after kids spent more than 20 hours on one of three video games.

The researchers claim that while a few hours playing an action game could improve concentration, but its not enough for other cognitive skills.
