Tottenham sack manager Ramos and appoint Redknapp

London - Tottenham Hotspur confirmed Sunday the appointment of Harry Redknapp as manager after the bottom-ranked English Premier League club sacked Juande Ramos overnight.

Spurs also dismissed sporting director Damien Comolli and first team coaches Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez.

Redknapp leaves Portsmouth, with whom he had won the FA Cup last season.

Tottenham have endured an awful start to the season, taking just two points from their first eight games, and being beaten 2-0 by Udinese on Thursday in their first game in the UEFA Cup group stage.

In an interview with BBC radio, Redknapp revealed that it was on Friday morning that Spurs made their approach.

London, Oct 25 : Stress looming from global financial crisis, has cost NHS more than 2 billion pounds a year, according to a new report.

Treating health problems arising out of wide range of domestic woes, from divorce to neighbour disputes, following financial crisis is costing huge amounts to NHS.

The researchers questioned 5,000 adults in England and Wales about so-called "civil-law problems" for which a remedy could be sought in court, including consumer disputes, employment issues, homelessness, domestic violence, disputes over benefits, child custody, immigration or mental health, and accidents where someone was to blame.

It showed 34 per cent of people said they had suffered at least one such problem.

Brit fashion designer says models too skinny for her size 10 clothes

fashionLondon, Oct 26 : A debate on the size of the models has once again been reopened after one of Britain''s leading fashion designers declared that she is unable to find models big enough to wear the clothes in her latest fashion show.

Maria Grachvogel, who was preparing her catwalk show at Claridge''s, made a request for size 10 models, but she was told by agencies that only size 8 or smaller models could be provided.

In the five years since Grachvogel last staged a catwalk show, the accepted standard model size was an 8-10 and now it has shrunk to a 6-8.

Prince Harry’s charity ‘fails to deliver promised money to orphanage’

Prince HarryLondon, October 26 : Prince Harry’s ‘Sentebale’, a charity set up to help vulnerable children and young people in Lesotho, has landed in a feud over finances promised to an orphanage in Lesotho.

Lydia Muso, director of Lesotho Child Counselling Unit (LCCU), has allegedly said that she had to ‘beg and borrow’ despite being assured of financial assistance by the royal’s charity to keep the orphanage running.

She claimed that the safe house, that looks after 17 sexually and physically abused children, had at first received the promised financial aid from the charity launched by the prince in 2006.
