London, Oct 26 : Pop singer Kerry Katona had spent her weekend on a booze and drugs bender with hubby Mark Croft before her slurred TV interview on Oct 22.

The 28-year-old singer shocked her TV viewers with an erratic appearance on ITV''s This Morning looking all confused during the interview with Philip Schofield and Fern Britton

According to pals of former ‘Atomic Kitten’ band member, she was locked in her bedroom for hours on weekend boozing and snorting speed.

She blamed her gaffe on medication she takes for her bipolar disorder, however, one of her friends claimed that her performance was an outcome of two-week booze and partying marathon.

“She’s on the edge and it was no surprise to me when she appeared on TV like that,” News of the World quoted Katona, as saying.

“She spent the whole of the weekend on a massive bender with Mark. They hardly left the bedroom—except to get new supplies of booze, drugs and junk food.

“She claims to be off the drugs, but that is nonsense. She had speed and cocaine although she does speed more now because it is a quarter of the price and she is feeling the pinch as she still owes the taxman more than £80,000.

“Whereas before it was cocaine all the way at £40 for a gram, now it is a little bit of coke and a lot of speed which is just a tenner,” the pal added.

The friend has also shot down the claims that Kerry’s claims that her erratic behaviour was down to medication.

“She hasn’t been taking it properly for a long time. She is totally off the rails. The bender at the weekend is not unusual.

“She was shocking on telly. She needs real help before she spirals even further out of control,” the pal added. (ANI)
