London, Apr 24 : Researchers at Seoul National University in South Korea have created the world''s first transgenic dog.

Cloned beagle named Ruppy - short for Ruby Puppy - and four other beagles all produce a fluorescent protein that glows red under ultraviolet light.

The research team led by Byeong-Chun Lee created the dogs by cloning fibroblast cells that express a red fluorescent gene produced by sea anemones, reports New Scientist.

London, Apr 24 : One of the most wanted al-Qaeda leaders in Iraq, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, has been arrested by security forces even as his suicide bombers killed more than 70 people in attacks in and around Baghdad.

Baghdadi, a leader of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq, was held in the capital after a tip-off, said Major General Qasim Atta, Baghdad's security spokesman.

Local television reported he had been taken captive by Iraqi troops in eastern Baghdad.

London - Britain's Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs, who gave himself up to police in 2001 after 36 years on the run, is likely to be freed from jail in July in time for his 80th birthday, his lawyer said in London on Thursday.

Biggs, who is partially paralyzed after a series of strokes, seizures and heart attacks, is currently held under medical supervision in Norwich hospital, in south-east Britain.
