Qatar, Nov 10 : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is on a three-day visit to Gulf countries met ruler of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani on Monday.
Singh spoke to Thani about wide-range of issues including economic, commercial and energy ties between the two countries.
Leaders of both the nations also discussed measures to tackle global recession and also talked about bilateral trade and cooperation. Supply of natural gas was another subject, which came up for discussion.
Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh is going to visit Oman and Qatar from November 8 to 10. Mr. Singh would discuss various matters such as two-way investments, energy security and safety of Indians working in Gulf region. Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vyalar Ravi, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora and other senior official would also accompany the PM.
Amman - Jordanian Prime Minister Nader Dahabi flew to Doha Saturday for a two-day state visit to Qatar designed to open a new chapter in relations between the two Arab countries which have not been on good terms over the past decade.
Jordan's efforts to improve ties with Qatar started last week when the chief of the Jordanian royal court Nasser Lawzi took a message from King Abdullah II to Qatar's ruler Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Athens - Qatar Airways, Iberia and Chrysler Aviation are among 13 companies which have expressed interest in the sale of state-owned Olympic Airlines, Greece's transport minister said Thursday.
"We were presented with 13 interested companies for flight operations, 15 have expressed interest for the ground handling and 10 for the technical maintenance part," Transport Minister Kostas Hatzidakis said in a radio interview.
