Pak Punjab Government closes two NATO supply facilitiesLahore, Feb 20 : The government in Pakistan's Punjab province has closed down two NATO supply facilities at Attock and Mianwali over security related fears.

NATO forces got oil and food supplies via Mianwali and NATO contingents used to stop for meals and rest at the camp near Musa Khel. This private spot was closed down on Thursday on the orders of District Police Officer Akbar Nasir Khan.

The Punjab Government also cancelled a private deal for a new NATO supply terminal.

Western intelligence agencies have accessed the computer and email account of Lashkar's communications chief, Zarar Shah, and found a list of possible targets, only 20 of which were in India.

Moderate quake hits PakistanIslamabad  - An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale shook parts of northern Pakistan Friday, a Meteorological Department official said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

The epicentre of the quake, which struck at 8:49 am (0349 GMT), was 95 kilometers north-east of the capital, Islamabad, department chief Qamaruz Zaman Chaudhry said.

The jolts were felt in several cities and parts of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, which was devastated in an October 2005 earthquake, which killed at least 73,000 people and left 3.5 million others homeless.

NATO official confirms ‘unwritten agreement’ with Pak for operating drones

Lahore, Feb 20: Even though Pakistan has categorically denied the use of its airbases for carrying out attacks on tribal areas, Islamabad, the US, and other NATO member countries have had an "unwritten agreement" for the past three to five years to allow the CIA to fly unmanned drones out of airstrips located in the Pak-Afghan region.

"In the past week, speculation has mounted over the extent to which Pakistan was aware of such flights, amid evidence that at least some of the drones were being launched from airstrips in remote Pakistani regions," a senior NATO military official told CBS News.

Pakistan says last payment from US for fighting Taliban delayed

Pakistan MapIslamabad - The United States has not paid Pakistan a penny for the last nine months for rendering its military services to fight Taliban and al-Qaeda in restive tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, a Pakistani official said on Thursday.

Shaukat Tarin, the financial advisor to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, said Pakistan's latest reimbursement bill of 1.35 billion dollars for flushing out militants from the tribal region in the north-west of the country, was delayed.

"We have not received any amount since May 2008," Tarin told reporters.

Sufi Mohammad meets Taliban leader Fazlulla chief to discuss ‘sharia-deal’

PakistanMingora, Feb. 19 : In a bid to convince the Taliban to disarm under `sharia-deal' between them and Pakistan Government, TNSM chief Sufi Muhammad met with Swat Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah at an undisclosed location on Thursday.

"They are discussing how to ensure peace and how to ensure the provision of speedy justice'' to the people," The Dawn quoted Taliban spokesman Muslim Khan, as saying.

On Wednesday, thousands of Sufi Mohammad supporters marched for peace in Pakistan's troubled Swat Valley. The march was led by Sufi Mohammad, the man who signed a deal to enforce Sharia law to end a bloody insurgency.
