During their meeting, Advani reportedly told Varun to respect the undertaking he had put before the Supreme Court.

According to sources, Varun thanked Advani for his support while he was under arrest and in Etah jail.

Shanoo lost her life for not knowing the alphabet. She spent 24 hours in coma.

Delhi''s Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has promised action.

She said, "Whether the girl deserved the kind of punishment that led eventually to her death is something which is very very sad and shocking. I have spoken to the MCD commissioner. They have suspended the teacher and also ordered an immediate enquiry into the whole incident."

At least 29 polling stations in Andhra Pradesh, five in Assam, two in Kerala and one in Uttar Pradesh will go for elections again.

One polling booth in Jammu and Kashmir will see repoll on April 19.

Five polling stations in Arunachal Pradesh and three in Nagaland will go to polls again on April 20th.
