Addressing corner meetings in Baprola village, Jai Vihar, Bakarwala JJ Colony, Kotla Vihar, K S Nagar, Risal Garden, Shiv Vihar JJ Colony, the three-time MLA said provisional certificates issued to unauthorized colonies in West Delhi by the UPA government were aimed at bringing relief to them by providing basic facilities.

"There is no reason to believe that the tape containing Varun's speech was doctored. His speech was worse than what was aired," Gopalaswami said in an interview with NDTV.

He said his party was hurt by Yadav's remarks.

Sibal also warned Lalu not to enter into an alliance with former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, a prime accused in Babri mosque demolition.

109 witnesses to be examined in Mumbai terrorism trial New Delhi - A total of 109 witnesses including those from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and foreign experts will be examined to establish the complicity of the Pakistani gunman captured during the Mumbai terrorist attacks, the Indian prosecution said Saturday.

A total of 1,820 witnesses have been cited in the case but only 109 potential witnesses will be examined, public prosecutor Ujwal Nikam informed the special court in Mumbai, the PTI news agency reported.

Tytler granted bail in defamation caseNew Delhi, Apr 18 : Congress leader Jagdish Tytler was on Saturday granted bail by a Delhi court in a case of making alleged insulting remarks against the lawyer of 1984 anti-Sikh riots victims, Harvinder Singh Phoolka in television news programmes.

He has also been excused from appearing personally till his plea for permanent exemption from court appearances is cleared by the court.

Tytler has been granted bail on furnishing of a personal and surety bond of Rs 50,000 each.
