Details released on 65-million-dollar Facebook payoff Los Angeles  - A law firm has released details of what was supposed to be a confidential 65-million-dollar payoff by Facebook to plaintiffs who claimed the social networking site was based on their ideas.

The payment was made by Facebook last year to smaller rival ConnectU, which had accused Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg, a fellow Harvard University graduate, of stealing their ideas to create his site. The ConnectU founders claimed to have hired Zuckerberg while all were students at Harvard University to create a college dating site.

US concert giants announce mergerLos Angeles - Two of the largest concert and event companies in the US announced Tuesday that they had agreed to merge, creating one of the largest live entertainment companies in the world.

The 400-million-dollar deal will see Live Nation take over Ticketmaster to form a new company called Live Nation Entertainment with an estimated value of 2.5 billion dollars including debt.

The new company is expected to sell more than 150 million concert tickets a year, promote 22,000 concerts annually, and own more than 140 venues globally.

Nadya SulemanLos Angeles  - Controversy grew Tuesday about Nadya Suleman, the single mother of octuplets who now has 14 children under the age of 8.

Though Suleman has claimed she is able to support her huge brood and did not take welfare payments, reports said that she received food stamps for her six older children and social security payments for three children with disabilities.

Suleman also told NBC that she had no income besides student loans and that she paid over 100,000 dollars of her own money to get the fertility treatment that led to the octuplets.

Radmanovic makes immediate impact, Bobcats crush Clippers

Los Angeles (dpa) - It didn't take long for sharpshooter Vladimir Radmanovic to make an immediate impact with his new club.

Radmanovic scored nine of his 13 points on three timely three-pointers in the decisive final quarter, and the injury-ravaged Charlotte Bobcats snapped a five-game losing streak on Monday night, with 94-73 victory over the road-weary LA Clippers.

"It was definitely nice to be out there and help my team win," said Radmanovic, who hit half his 10 shots in 29 minutes, after being acquired from the LA Lakers on Saturday for reserves Shannon Brown and Adam Morrison. "Luckily, I got back into rhythm in the second half."
