London, Jan 3 : After a dysfunctional family Christmas most UK couples are heading towards divorce, and the most likely date to witness the highest number of petitions filed is January 20, according to lawyers.
According to the experts, more people file for divorce in January than at any other time of the year because they decide to take action after a `not-so-good family Christmas.
"January is the month when you tend to see an increase in the number of couples deciding to separate," the Telegraph quoted Tanya Roberts, partner at law firm Charles Russell as saying.
"Having gritted their teeth over Christmas and the New Year, and finally got the children settled into school, they call in a divorce lawyer.

London, Jan 3: A survey, using data obtained from the Hubble Space Telescope, has determined that nearly all massive galaxies have undergone at least one major merger since the Universe was 6 billion years old, resulting in bursts of star formation.
According to a report in Nature News, the survey used data from the Hubble Space Telescope to study 21,902 massive galaxies as they would have appeared when the Universe - now roughly 13.7 billion years old - was between 5.2 billion and 11.2 billion years old.
London, Jan 3: Former Sussex captain and friend of English coach Peter Moores, Chris Adams, has said that solidarity is needed after the apparent rift between captain Kevin Pietersen and the coach, urging them to work together.

The biggest wind-turbine maker of the country, Suzlon Energy would sell 10% stake in its Belgium arm Hansen to a London-based investment firm. Hansen supplies industrial and wind gear boxes besides providing designs of business and manufacturing practices. It is planning to expand its network in India and China.
Suzlon said in a filing before the Bombay Stock Exchange that its Netherlands-based wholly-owned subsidiary AE-Rotor Holding has sold 6.70 crore shares to Ecofin. The amount of deal is not disclosed yet by any party.
