London, Jan 6 : Paris Hilton wants to hand the honour of being named after a city to her first daughter - and plans to call her London.
While in an interview with Glamour magazine, the bombshell said: "I'd love to have children in the next two years. I'd like three or four. I want a boy first, to watch over my girls, and I'll name my first girl London - I love that
name."
For a while now Paris has been spotted in the UK capital quite a lot as she's looking for a new best friend for a reality TV show, reports the Mirror.
And, she likes it so much she wants to make the arrangement permanent.
Vijay Mallya-run private air-carrier Kingfisher Airlines is planning to start daily flight between Mumbai and London from Monday. The move is aimed to expand its overseas operations. The new flight would leave for Heathrow's Terminal at 1.50 pm IST from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Terminal, Mumbai and reach London at 5.55 pm GMT. The company would use brand new Airbus 330-200 aircraft which is configured in two classes namely Kingfisher First and Kingfisher second Class.
London - English Premier League Middlesbrough said on Monday that Stewart Downing will not be leaving the club and that none of their senior players would be sold in the transfer window.
England winger Downing reportedly handed in a transfer request, just a year after signing a new five-year contract, and Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid for him, which was rejected.
Manager Gareth Southgate said Downing would be staying at the north-east club.
"In the situation we are in right now, we don't feel it would be right to let Stewart go," Southgate told Middlesbrough's official website.
London, Jan 5 : Irish playwright Oscar Wilde earned himself the ire of campaigners from the south coast town of Worthing, when it was discovered that he was a child abuser.
Wilde had lived in the resort in 1894, where he had penned `The Importance of Being Ernest', naming character Jack Worthing in its honour, and a blue plaque had been hosted in his honour at Esplanade Court on the seafront.
But now the town wants to rid itself of the honour, ever since Chris Hare, a local historian, raised the question of Wilde''s relationships with teenage boys in a new book, Worthing, a History: Riots and Respectability in a Seaside Town.
London, Jan 5 : Owner of a UK cafe was left gob smacked when he cracked open an egg, and found that it had four yolks.
Jane Holmes noticed the unusual egg as she cooked lunch for a customer.
And the lady was so excited to see the egg that she called her supplier, Daniel Brown, of Brown's Eggs in Scarborough, North Yorks, to report the find.
"We've been delivering eggs 40 years and even my dad hasn't seen one with four yolks before," the Sun quoted Brown as saying.
"The odds of a double-yolk are about 1,000 to one, so odds of four yolks must be phenomenal.
Dublin/London - Financially troubled prestige china and crystal firm Waterford Wedgwood announced Monday that parts of its business in Ireland and Britain had been placed into administration.
The Anglo-Irish group, with a history of 250 years, is best known for its Wedgwood pottery and Royal Doulton and Waterford crystal.
It said Monday receivers had been appointed to parts of its Irish business, based in Waterford, in the south of the Irish Republic, and in Stoke-on-Trent, in the county of Staffordshire in central England.
